Vanilla

Take one look at Vanilla and you may notice the little heart on her side, sitting beside a perfectly formed circle – a fitting symbol for a girl who is slowly discovering that there might just be a special place in her heart for a human of her own.

One of 13 cats rescued from the Buttercup colony, Vanilla is a gentle girl who is learning to trust. She once seemed certain that a relationship with a human wasn’t for her, but she’s had a change of heart! She’s beginning to enjoy human interaction and is discovering that people can be friends, playmates, and sources of comfort. Sit down and engage her, and Vanilla will happily play with you. Given time, patience, and plenty of positive interaction, she hopes to become someone’s very special fur baby.

At around 14 months old, Vanilla is at a wonderful stage of life for adoption. She has moved beyond the constant supervision and high energy of kittenhood, but she’s still young, playful, curious, and eager to learn. Her personality is unfolding right before you, making it especially rewarding to watch her confidence grow. For the right person, adopting Vanilla won’t just mean bringing home a cat – it will mean earning the trust of a gentle girl who has decided that maybe, after all, having a human of her own could be pretty wonderful.

Why adopt an adult or adolescent cat?

Adopting an adult or adolescent cat can be a truly rewarding experience. Unlike kittens, they won’t turn your house upside down with endless energy. While kittens require plenty of teaching, supervision, and active play, adult and adolescent cats tend to have better manners, need less intensive playtime, and are more comfortable entertaining themselves. And because their personalities are already more developed, you’ll have a much better sense of who they are when you bring them home.

Rescued adult and adolescent cats often seem to understand just how hard life can be—and how special it is to finally feel safe and loved. Building trust may take a little extra time and patience, but once that bond is formed, they can become incredibly devoted companions. Everyone loves a cute kitten, but sometimes that adult cat you almost overlooked is the one who becomes your perfect match.

All adoptable cats & kittens are neutered or spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have received their FVRCP vaccine, rabies vaccine (if old enough) and have been treated for fleas and worms.

We have a $175 adoption fee for kittens and $150 adoption fee for adult cats. 100% of all adoption fees go towards the cats in our care. We are 100% volunteer run.
